Spring is here and neighbours gather to see the new puppies, even Fluffy takes a peek to see what all the fuss is about!
The Early Years
My hometown of Tottenham was established in the 1800’s, boasting two railway lines. Tottenham was a busy village serving both the townspeople and the surrounding farming community.
It is a skating party and everyone is welcome! Take a spin around the pond, warm up by the fire and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate.
Stone Hill Farm
It is a beautiful day in the country. The local children are having a great time skating, while the neighbours exchange their news.
This wonderful old house house was known by the locals as the Gables. As children we were convinced that it was haunted and Hallowe’en just added to the lore of ghosts and goblins lurking in the shadows. My friend and I always rushed past hoping to avoid a spooky encounter.

Finding the perfect tree makes for an exciting outing. Two brothers have decided to have a game of hockey, who will win?

Snow is coming down and the Sugar Plum Inn beckons with its warmth and Christmas cheer. A little boy has spotted a special visitor and hopes to share his exciting news!
My Mother's Store
A Christmas tree glows brightly in the window of our mother’s store. My sister and I would take in the sights and sounds while visiting our mom at her place of work. The door would open as the bell tinkled to announce our arrival.

My sister and I loved to skate. I followed her lead, twirling and spinning to our invisible audience. It was magic!

Dining out at a country inn is always a treat. The Globe Restaurant draws you in with its wonderful fare and warm and inviting atmosphere.
Before the Bell Rings
The morning is bright and clear as children arrive at school to visit with friends or play a game of ball before the bell rings!
This charming village is nestled in the Hockley Valley with roots dating back to the early 1800’s. The snow falls steadily, the sawmill hums and the general store offers its warmth and wares for those who drop by.
Lighting the Lanterns
The village is a busy place, especially in preparation for Christmas. Night is coming and it is time to light the lanterns!
Harvest time is here and choosing the perfect pumpkin is part of the fun. A little boy seems to have found just the right one to take home.
Every village has a heart of its own and Holly Lane is no exception. Children gather to admire the snowman, with hopes of visiting the toy store. A Christmas tree makes its way home as shoppers rush to and fro preparing for the up coming season.
Back to School
Excitement fills the air as children arrive at school in a horse drawn wagon. A little girl stands by anxiously on her first day with her mother at her side. Older boys bring firewood into the school, preparing for the chilly days ahead.

Let your imagination take you back in time when Sheldon Mill was a centre of activity. A family enjoys some leisure time and toboggans are tested on a nearby hill.
A Perfect Day
Wonderful memories fill my mind when I visit my hometown. As children life was carefree and idyllic, a friendly wave from a shopkeeper or a cheerful hello from a passerby, made our journey to school an adventure.
Skating on the Tay
If you listen closely you can hear the jingle of bells as a sleigh passes quietly in the night. Children skate in the moonlight caught up in the magic and stillness of a winter’s evening.
A Day in the Village
Villagers gather to say hello and a treat is quickly found for a curious horse.
Family gatherings at my grandparents farm were always a special time and what better time than Christmas! With the wood stove crackling and aromas filling the air the farmhouse was abuzz with fun and excitement!

Who can resist skating in the moonlight. These two brothers are surely enjoying themselves with their much loved pet close at hand.
Christmas on Mill Street
This wonderful street was a part of our lives for a number of years. I couldn’t resist painting this picture imagining what it might have looked like in the 1800’s. Our little white cat Fluffy is sitting in one of the doorways taking in the scenery.
